Hello,
My name is Eri. I am a Spatial Experience, and Environmental Designer.
Born and raised in Japan, I currently reside near Los Angeles, California. My journey across diverse cultures has taken me to seven countries—the USA, Germany, Canada, Thailand, Chile, Costa Rica, and Ecuador—where I studied and explored diverse environments and lifestyles. These experiences fueled my passion for understanding cultures, human experiences, technology, and design.
In 2016, my eco-resort design in Costa Rica received the Calibre Award in Sustainable Living (Social Relevance) from the International Interior Design Association. That same year, furniture I designed for the Ecuador-based company ATU was exhibited at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in Miami. I graduated from ArtCenter College of Design in 2017 with a B.S. in Environmental Design, with Distinction (highest honors), and a minor in Social Innovation.
In 2019, my carpet and wall art design won an internal design competition and was selected for use in the Social Hub at the HD Expo in Las Vegas, a space designed by Rottet Studio. The work was later featured in Interiors Magazine in collaboration with Kyle Bunting and Rottet Studio. The designs can also be viewed on Interiors Magazine's website.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, I earned the LEED AP Building Design + Construction credential in 2021. As a designer of spaces and experiences, I have contributed to projects around the world. Most recently, I served as the Lead Designer and Art Director of Space and Experience Design for the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
In 2025, I also gave a lecture titled “Storytelling by Design” at ArtCenter College of Design. Beyond practice, I am actively engaged in education and community. I am regularly invited as a Guest Reviewer at ArtCenter College of Design, and I serve on the Board and Scholarship Committee of the Wakayama Kenjinkai of Southern California, fostering ties between Japan and the U.S. I am also a member of the Ikenobo Ikebana Los Angeles Chapter, participating in exhibitions that showcase Japan’s traditional art of flower arrangement.
